Bio

tyraløuise (Tyra Louise Tupaz) is a singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and aspiring surgical technologist whose passion for serving others extends from the operating room to the stage. Whether performing music or caring for patients, she believes the most meaningful work comes from compassion, presence, and genuine human connection.

A self-taught musician since childhood, Tyra began writing songs in sixth grade and has spent years developing her craft as both a vocalist and instrumentalist. While acoustic guitar remains her primary instrument, she also plays piano, electric guitar, bass guitar, ukulele, drums, and has explored saxophone. She later refined her vocal technique through formal training in college, where she participated in vocal jazz choir, contemporary music ensembles, and solo competitions. One of those performances earned her a scholarship that helped support her journey toward a career in healthcare.

As a performer, Tyra draws inspiration from timeless artists such as Hall & Oates, The Carpenters, Burt Bacharach, Fleetwood Mac, Norah Jones, and other classic songwriters whose music emphasizes melody, storytelling, and emotional authenticity. Her repertoire spans soft rock, soul, pop, folk, acoustic R&B, and bossa nova, while her original songs reflect personal experiences with honesty and introspection. Whether performing familiar classics or her own music, her goal is always to create moments that feel genuine, comforting, and memorable.

Alongside her musical pursuits, Tyra is currently completing her clinical training as a surgical technologist. Her healthcare journey has also included experience as a medical scribe, registered medical assistant, and patient care coordinator, allowing her to work alongside providers across multiple specialties while developing a deep appreciation for teamwork, precision, and patient-centered care. These experiences have shaped not only the healthcare professional she is becoming but also the empathy and perspective she brings to her songwriting and performances.

For Tyra, music and medicine are not separate passions—they are two expressions of the same purpose: to make people feel seen, supported, and cared for. Whether she's in the operating room, on a coffee shop stage, or writing her next song, she hopes to leave every person a little better than she found them.
